a place to rest a minute and fill your soul with wild hope

I create spaces for soulful rhythms, resilience, and creativity to flourish so we can encounter God in everyday life.

Hi there,

I’m a writer, spiritual director, creative space-maker, and occasional preacher. I have a BA in Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin and a MA in Spiritual Formation with an emphasis on Spiritual Direction from Portland Seminary. Additionally, I am a Certified Spiritual Director, also from Portland Seminary. When those all of experiences meet together in creativity, I hear music.

I have always been fascinated with design and the spaces that shape us. First, I explored space in physical spaces: textures, light, and materials like wood, stone, glass, and garden. Then, I was drawn to the spiritual spaces within and between us and our Artist God. In bringing the two together, we can discover delightful possibilities for the shapes of our souls.

I am a homebody who enjoys scenic hiking, reading, design, poetry, and writing while sipping dark roast coffee in a thrifted mug. A bunch of handpicked wildflowers in a mason jar or ironstone pitcher make me smile.

I hope we get to meet one day over a basket of chips and salsa.

These are my people.

I have been married to Mike for 36 years. We hail from sunny Texas but now live in rainy Oregon. We happily call both places home. We have 4 grown kids who love ice cream and shenanigans. Three are married and between them are 7 grandchildren we call the Wonders.

Here they are by nickname – Blueberry, Sweet Pea, Dyl Pickle, Cowboy, Ray, Pony Boy and Mojo.

“The greatest saints are not those who need less grace, but those who consume the most grace, who indeed are most in need of grace . . . Grace to them is like breath.””
